Associate Lead

Role Summary:

An Associate Lead plays a key role in supporting service, sales, and business operations to cultivate an engaging and inspiring environment. This involves collaborating with colleagues to address operational and visual requirements, while also prioritizing the development of the associate team.

Role Responsibilities:

Customer Experience…

  • Exemplifies Black Shed’s mission and embodies our brand values. You will passionately represent Black Shed and deliver an exceptional customer experience. Engaging, inspiring, educating, and showing appreciation to our customers are key aspects of this role.

  • Shares insights on product knowledge, latest arrivals, and emerging trends to enrich customer experiences and spark creativity in both indoor and outdoor spaces.

  • Works collaboratively with the leadership team and designers to craft captivating visual experiences that resonate with our customers.

Leadership + Team Management…

  • Plays an active role in overseeing the store environment and enhancing the customer experience by fostering an energetic pace, promoting positivity within the team, and ensuring efficient management of daily zones.

  • Strives to acquire in-depth product and vendor knowledge; organizes and conducts collaborative, educational meetings that boost employee confidence in providing exceptional customer service.

  • Assists in the recruitment, hiring, and retention of top talent to strengthen the team's bench.

  • Delivers timely and constructive employee feedback to foster a culture of initiative and accountability; emphasizes the importance of thorough new hire onboarding and development to enhance the employee experience.

Visual + Business Operations…

  • Oversees daily operational procedures, including opening and closing protocols.

  • Aids in visual requirements such as maintaining store cleanliness, ensuring product display standards, managing stock levels, updating visual merchandising, implementing promotional signage, and executing markdowns.

  • Ensures compliance with store safety standards, maintains inventory accuracy, minimizes product loss, and upholds all company policies and procedures to contribute to the store's profitability.

Communication + Relationships…

  • Promotes an inclusive and people-centric approach; interacts with employees across all levels to foster open communication, reinforce accountability, and ensure that the store team feels valued and supported.

  • Maintains regular communication with leadership to facilitate collaboration and teamwork in achieving store objectives; welcomes and acts upon feedback.

  • Offers valuable insights regarding both customer and employee experiences, and effectively communicates feedback to the leadership.

Role Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience.

  • Familiarity with current home décor trends and gardening practices.

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate store requirements.

  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for continuous learning and advancement within the organization.
